This elegant ceramic vase is hand crafted in a traditional kiln in Foshan, China. The dramatic purple glaze is highly sensitive to heat and oxygen when initially fired, giving each vase a finish with variations in color and intensity. The result is a streaked look that resembles flowing water and is unique to each piece. The dragon coils around the entire vase with spectacular detailing. Teeth, claws and mane all have the hallmarks of fine hand made craftsmanship. The amber and green coloration of the dragon is a nod to the Tang Dynasty, which largely improved upon ceramic manufacturing in China during the 6th century.
